Watch our ministry grow

SUMMER ADVENTURE CAMP STORY

“I liked swimming the best,” said Jayden, a slender, energetic 13-year-old boy with a big smile who recently attended a Summer Adventure Camp week at New Song. It was apparent that Jayden and his younger sister Brooklynn, who also attended the camp, had a strong bond as they played very well together throughout the week-long overnight camp.

“Our Adventure Camps are now in their fifth year, and we are thrilled to continue using the New Song campus to bless kids in the summertime through with fun activities, new experiences, great camp food, and gospel-centered devotions throughout the week,” shared New Song’s Director, Bob Schloss. “The camps are exclusively for vulnerable boys and girls ages 6-13 who live in central or southcentral Indiana."

The Bible theme for this year’s camp is taken from Jesus’ declaration that He is “the way, the truth, and the life,” found in John 14:6. We are so glad for the opportunity to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ among our campers! Some of the activities we are providing our campers this year are:

  • Rock-climbing on our new 40’ long wall
  • Fishing in the New Song pond
  • Campfires and s’mores
  • Being timed on an obstacle course
  • A slip-and-slide tug-of-war match
  • Low ropes on our challenge course
  • 9-square and Gaga ball
  • An outdoor “movie under the stars”
  • Creek-walking at the Lower Cascade Falls
  • in Bloomington
  • Nightly devotions

Several church and ministry partners have helped make our first camp of 2024 a huge hit for campers, including:

FUNDING FOR OUR NEW ROCK-CLIMBING WALL

  • Hands of Hope provided the much-needed funding for the new wall!

PREPARING THE GROUNDS AND BUILDING THE CLIMBING WALL

  • Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bloomington
  • Dive Christian Church in Bedford
  • Garden City Christian Church of Columbus

PROVIDING BREAKFAST CASSEROLES

  • Bible Church of Columbus

REFERRING CHILDREN

  • Family Hope of Central Indiana
  • Renewal Neighborhood Ministry

We are so very thankful for these ministry partners, and also for all of our ministry partners who have contributed financially so kids can attend the camps. It costs $555 for a child to attend a camp, and it’s only through the generosity of our supporters that kids can come to camp. If you can help sponsor a child, please contribute to our Grace Fund as soon as possible! If you, your small group, or your church would like to physically assist us, we have needs in the areas of Camper Hosts, Camp Prep, and Camp Cooks (preparing frozen casserole breakfasts). Please contact us at info@NewSongMission.org to learn more! May God bless you with His abundant grace this summer!
