Home C Update
“We’re so thankful for the steady progress that’s been made toward completion of Home C on the New Song campus,” said ex officio board member, Dan Gluesenkamp. Home C is the third of three phase one campus homes. With the completion of the home comes the completion of phase one construction!
Seated near the recreational park on a piece of the property that overlooks the two-acre pond, the home has hickory cabinets, dark stone fireplace masonry, and interior design features that make it unique from the other two homes.
Leading the design effort has been Columbus resident Juli Suverkrup of Suverkrup Design. Juli has created a space that feels warm and inviting. It has turned out beautifully.
Ron Eddins, our construction manager, has personally overseen and worked on the home’s interior finish carpentry needs with the help of some key volunteers, and small teams of professional contractors have visited the home to complete the plumbing, electrical, and deck work.
Recently, local electrical contractors Bob Middendorf and Larry Nordman installed fan lights, fluorescent lighting in ceilings, and kitchen lights. Construction volunteers Tim Beretta, Tim Pickens, and Jeremy Eddins completed work on the back deck of the home. The bathroom plumbing, water heaters, and faucets around the home were installed by local plumbers Jason McCord, Dave Sanders, and Brian Lewis. “Each of our volunteers did such a great job,” shared Ron Eddins. “Everything looks great!”
We extend our great thanks to these amazing volunteers and praise God for their incredible help! And we remain very grateful to all who have helped with the home.
