Education Program in Full Swing at New Song!
“I was really excited to begin teaching this fall semester at New Song,” said Coordinating Lead Teacher, Kyla Ramirez, “but I was wondering how it would work out with just one student in the classroom.”
With our first child at New Song arriving just before the beginning of summer, a 12 year-old boy from the western part of Indiana, we knew that the fall semester of school would be coming quickly. So we began exploring whether we could find another child or two who could join in the classroom so that our New Song student would have some classmates to interact with. Humanly speaking, the chances were slim that something like that would work out.
But God, through His sovereignty, provided the guidance to make it happen! Kyla’s two sisters, ages 11 and 13, have been homeschooled by their mom for several years. It occurred to Kyla that perhaps her younger sisters would enjoy being educated out at New Song alongside of our first student, with big sister as their teacher!
The girls, Grace and Faith, responded positively, and we are very grateful that their mom agreed. Since August 17th, the three students have been in class together, and, overall, the experience has been very positive. “I think it’s been great for our New Song student to have kids his age in the classroom,” said Kyla. “It’s worked out well, and I thank the Lord, my sisters, and my mom for helping it to work out!”
We thank the Lord… He makes all things possible.
